The awful advice at free credit forums on the web

Many subscribers and clients have done a lot of reading at the free credit forums.  And the more they read, the more difficult it is to UNLEARN and to focus on IMPORTANT data and accounts.

Because something worked for ONE person (likely with a completely different credit report than you) does NOT mean that that it'll work for you.  Similarly, just because one person wins the lottery doesn't mean that YOU will win too.

One of my clients recently searched the web about arbitration and posted a link with what he thought was wonderful information at a credit repair board.  However, it had nothing to do with his court ordered arbitration, but was about the NAF (sued out of business).

So if your credit is important, stay away from free advice -- you usually get what you paid for.

I do NOT use terms like "CA" or "DV" or whatever else is used by wannabe credit experts elsewhere.

I do NOT recommend that you demand that collectors provide validation within 30 days.

I do NOT recommend sending obnoxious letters to collectors and FAKE legal threats to collectors.

And I do NOT want to continually explain why the wannabe credit experts and scammers on the web don't have a clue or why is information is no longer correct.   Of course you can send me links to those sites and you can PAY me by the hour to explain to you why you shouldn't follow their advice, but I prefer to focus on improving your credit and FICO scores.

Clients will save a lot of $$$ if they just let me do my work and follow my advice instead of discussing various credit repair techniques.

However, if you should find a website containing DOCUMENTATION of FICO scoring bugs and open letters to legislators and regulators, I certainly welcome the link.
